St. Croix River drowning victims identified

The Hudson, Wis., men whose bodies were recovered from the St. Croix River on Tuesday have been identified.Neither Demetrius A. Kekedakis, 51, nor Perry D. Montpetit, 65, were wearing life jackets at the time of the drowning, according to the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office.Rescue crews pulled the men from the St. Croix River, just south of the Interstate 94 bridge, on Tuesday a few hours after Kekedakis’ fishing boat was seen unoccupied and spinning in circles near Town of Troy, Wis., Beach., said St. Croix County, Wis., Sheriff Scott Knudson.A boater called 911 at 9:35 a.m. Tuesday to report seeing the boat and possibly a body next to the boat, Knudson said.When deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrived by boat, however, they could not locate anyone in the water. Members of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team found Kekedakis at 12:20 p.m.; Montpetit was located shortly before 6 p.m., he said.The men were found about 650 yards from the Wisconsin sh...

Children will be partnered with their own instructor, and lessons will be catered to each child's needs. Hillsdale worker charged for running over FOX 2 photographer

HILLSDALE, Mo. – A Hillsdale employee is facing charges after a FOX 2 photojournalist was run over with the village's top leader in the passenger seat. Earl Longmeyer, 57, is accused of operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner, according to court records filed Wednesday. Records show Longmeyer works in the village's Public Works Department. The incident happened in August, as Fox Files investigators were looking into the village’s threat to tow multiple cars for code violations.The Fox Files saw Dorothy Moore’s vehicle parked in front of Village Hall. Moore is the mayor, or her official title, the Chair of the Board of Trustees. While the police chief claimed Moore was not at Village Hall, Fox Files investigators heard them talking inside. Officer who died in 405 Freeway crash had been wounded in Las Vegas shooting

A motorcycle officer with the Manhattan Beach Police Department died Wednesday morning in a multi-vehicle crash on the 405 Freeway in Carson.The crash, which involved four vehicles, occurred at about 5:15 a.m. on the northbound 405 Freeway near East Del Amo Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol. "At this time, it looks like a vehicle may have been traveling at an unsafe speed and possibly conducted an unsafe lane change," CHP Lt. Steve Carapia said.
