KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Before the G20 summit concluded in India, one jazz vocalist from Kansas City had the chance to step on the international stage. Eboni Fondren was selected to represent the United States in the choir that performed there."It was surreal,” Fondren said. That's the reaction Fondren had when she found out the news that she'd have a chance to grace the international stage all while doing what she loves. "The experience of it all, and the friendships that were made—yeah, it was like—the whole experience just super surreal," Fondren said. But this accomplishment didn't happen overnight. In fact, it took a lot of hard work. Not only her life's dedication to being the best possible jazz vocalist she can be. But putting in the work to be one of less than 30 people selected to be in the choir that had this opportunity had such an important summit. Including 10 days of rehearsals, all-in preparation for when the choir took the stage in front of the...Broncos stock report: With Jerry Jeudy out, does anybody on Denver’s offense scare opposing defensive coordinators?

He finished with eight tackles, a pressure on Jimmy Garoppolo and the pass deflection that led to Kareem Jackson’s interception. The Broncos signed him to a three-year deal in the offseason for a reason.QB Russell WilsonThe quarterback played well overall and, notably, executed consistently within the structure of plays. There’s still plenty to improve upon — a low throw to Courtland Sutton on Denver’s fourth-quarter three-and-out was a bad time for a bad ball — but a promising first step in 2023 for Wilson.RB Javonte WilliamsThe numbers aren’t going to blow anybody away — 17 touches for 57 yards — but William...CSU Board to vote on proposed 6% annual tuition hikes Wednesday

Students across the California State University system’s 23 campuses will likely have annual tuition increases beginning in the fall 2024 semester, pending approval from the Board of Trustees, a vote that’s set for Wednesday, Sept. 13.The proposed tuition increases, which includes an annual 6% bump in the cost of education over the next five years, were originally approved by the board’s Committee on Finance in July — despite concerns from students and faculty alike that the additional costs would limit access to what has historically been the state’s most affordable higher education system.CSU officials, though, say the tuition increases — the first since the 2011-12 academic year — are necessary to cover $1.5 billion in unfunded operational costs in the system’s budget. The massive funding gap was first identified by a CSU workgroup report released in May, which found that the CSU only has enough money to pay for about 85% of the actual costs of education, institutional and academi...Latest news
