(KRON) -- A man was shot in east San Jose Thursday night on Lanai Avenue off of King and Tully Roads. Police say the man was taken to the hospital and at this time they have no individual(s) in custody. Redwood City man arrested in connection with rape of a minor

(BCN) -- Deputies in San Mateo County have arrested a man in connection with the rape of a minor. Christopher Esquivel, 23, of Redwood City, was arrested on suspicion of rape by force, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. On March 16, detectives began investigating a case of a minor who was raped by a known person. Investigators identified Esquivel as the suspect, and following the investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest, according to the sheriff's office. Grad student commutes to UC Berkeley by plane to save on rent On Thursday, Esquivel was located in San Bruno and was arrested. He has since posted bail and is no longer in custody, according to the sheriff's office. Anyone with information about this case can contact (650) 363-4060. LEIPZIG, Germany (AP) — Leipzig signed Fábio Carvalho from Liverpool on a season-long loan Friday after the promising midfielder lacked game time in the Premier League.Carvalho signed for Liverpool last year after scoring 10 goals for Fulham on the way to promotion from the second division.Carvalho played 21 times for Liverpool in all competitions last season but his game time dried up in the second half of the season. He made only two brief Premier League substitute appearances after the new year and played once in the Champions League and once in the FA Cup.“He will now continue his development and gain more experience in Germany with Leipzig,” Liverpool said.He joins a Leipzig team which is looking to build on its strong form at the end of last season. DENVER (KDVR) -- Police in Brighton said there was a fatal crash involving a pedestrian Friday morning.According to a tweet from Brighton Police Department, there was a crash between a motorist and a pedestrian on Interstate 76.It happened near the E-470 ramp on Eastbound I-76 Monday morning.One lane was closed to traffic for police to investigate, they said.Police advised alternate routes for anyone who might be commuting Friday morning.No further details were immediately released.
