33-Year-Old Drunk Driver Dies after Police Pursuit on 110 FreewayPASADENA, CA (June 22, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, Jesse Ramirez was pronounced dead following a deadly DUI pursuit crash.On June 18th, just before 12:10 a.m., officers received a report about a drunk driver heading northbound on the 110 Freeway.Furthermore, 33-year-old Ramirez was identified as the driver and he was approaching Fair Oaks Avenue. SAN PABLO — A car that had been briefly chased by San Pablo police before the pursuit was cancelled Thursday morning was found crashed a short time later with a 29-year-old man lying dead outside the vehicle.Authorities were trying to determine if the man, a 29-year-old Richmond resident, was the driver of the car or a passenger.In a news release, police said that about 12:22 a.m. Thursday, a San Pablo Police officer observed a 1997 green Nissan Altima traveling eastbound on San Pablo Dam Road at a high rate of speed.The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the Nissan, but the driver kept going and a pursuit was initiated.The officer pursued the Nissan to the 4700 block of Appian Way in El Sobrante when the vehicle accelerated to speeds in excess of 90 mph, police said. OAKLAND — An affordable housing development with more than 100 residences could sprout at a parking lot in downtown Oakland, city documents show.Oakland Affordable Housing Group has proposed the residential development, which would be located at 315 15th Street in Oakland, according to a preliminary filing with city planners.The eight-story apartment project is being eyed at a surface parking lot on 15th Street between Webster Street and Harrison Street, the proposal shows.The development would consist of 126 apartments, the housing plans envision.Oakland Affordable Housing Group bought the proposed development site in 2016, paying $8 million for the property, according to documents on file with the Alameda County Recorder’s Office.The project would be constructed next to a seven-story apartment at 1445 Harrison Street.Downtown Oakland parking lot at 315 15th Street, located between Harrison Street and Webster Street. SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A suspect allegedly involved in a deadly Richmond District assault that left a woman and a dog dead was shot by police and later died of his injuries Thursday morning. According to the San Francisco Police Department, officers from Richmond Station were dispatched to a residence on the 700 block of 31st Avenue at 2:39 a.m. this morning for a report of an aggravated assault in progress.Upon arriving at the scene, officers made contact with an 84-year-old male victim in the doorway of the home. At this time, the suspect, a 37-year-old man, advanced toward the victim and the officer with a knife from inside the home. The officer shot the suspect at this point, according to SFPD. (KRON) – A 1-year-old child is being hospitalized following a recent dog attack that occurred this week in East Palo Alto.Officers responded to the report of a child suffering from severe injuries after a dog attack in the 800 block of Schembri Lane around 7:20 p.m. The dog was secured by officers and the child received aid by medical personnel before being transported to a local hospital, police said.
