Dear Amy: Summer is almost here and a house on our street has a really unkempt lawn. It looks like it hasn’t been mowed at all.We live on a nice street with small front lawns, and all the neighbors take pride. There is a local ordinance regarding this, but I’m on the fence about turning in these people. Another neighbor mentioned reporting them, and we were both wondering what you think.– Neat NeighborDear Neighbor: You don’t seem to know this family, but before turning them in, you might want to knock on their door and offer to cut their front lawn for them. Tell them, “It’s no big deal – zip-zip, and I’ll be done in 15 minutes.”They might be older, unwell or overwhelmed. Some church and community groups will take on this task, bringing over a small crew of volunteers, and I assume that this assistance is gratefully received by the homeowners.Dear Amy: In college in Montana, I majored in equine studies. MADRID (AP) — Six teams are vying to avoid relegation to the second division as the Spanish league reaches its finish.Cadiz, Getafe and Valencia each have 41 points, Almeria and Celta have 40, and Valladolid has 39 heading into the final round of games.Valladolid is currently in 18th place, the last spot that will tumble along with already demoted Espanyol and Elche. But Valladolid has its fate in its hands because it hosts 14th-place Getafe on Sunday.A victory by the team owned by former Brazil great Ronaldo would be enough to secure salvation, but a draw could do the trick depending on other results. A draw by Getafe would be enough for the modest Madrid-based club to stay up.Cadiz, in 14th place, will play at Elche needing only a draw to ensure its survives.Valencia, which eliminated Espanyol last weekend with a stoppage-time goal, needs a draw from its trip to Real Betis, which has already secured a Europa League berth.A draw would also suffice Almeria at Espanyol.Celta, which h...Sevilla ends unusually poor season celebrating yet another Europa League title

MADRID (AP) — It was the usual ending for Sevilla in an unusual season for the Spanish soccer club.Sevilla won the Europa League trophy yet again on Thursday after a season in which it went through coaching changes and had to fight just to avoid relegation in the Spanish league. The team’s struggles were quickly forgotten with its victory on penalties over Roma in the Europa League final on Wednesday in Budapest, which gave the club a record seventh title in the second-tier European competition. What looked like a season to forget turned into triumph after another impressive campaign by the Spanish club in the competition where it has been dominant in recent years. Five of its titles came within the last 10 years — 2014-16, 2020 and 2023.This time, Sevilla eliminated European powerhouses Manchester United in the quarterfinals and Juventus in the semifinals. It had gotten past Fenerbahce and PSV Eindhoven in previous rounds. On Wednesday, the team beat José Mourinho-coached Roma 4...Mourinho acknowledges ‘nobody has called me’ as he considers his future at Roma

ROME (AP) — Almost as soon as he was awarded it, Jose Mourinho took off the silver medal that had just been hung around his neck by UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin, walked toward the stands and handed it to a young fan in the front row.“I only keep the gold ones,” Mourinho said later, still livid after his Roma squad was beaten by Sevilla in a penalty shootout to decide the Europa League final. After coaching his team to the trophy in five consecutive European finals over two decades, it was Mourinho’s first defeat at this stage and the 60-year-old Portuguese coach was quick to blame the referee for not awarding a penalty kick to Roma for a perceived handball during the second half — as well as a bunch of other decisions that he thought English referee Anthony Taylor mishandled.“The referee seemed like he was Spanish,” Mourinho said. “The result was not fair and there are a lot of instances to re-examine.”Mourinho was also seen insulting Taylor in the garage of the Puskas Arena in ...Latest news
