August is coming to a close. Back-to-school season is in full swing. While sweltering summer temperatures are still bearing down on most of the U.S., we're all waiting for that first chill in the air that signals that fall is coming. And what does fall bring, other than crunchy leaves, sweaters and spooky season? Pumpkin spice lattes, of course. CHICAGO — U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) has introduced a bill to keep companies from dumping plastic pellets into waterways.If passed, the Plastic Pellet Free Waters Act would require the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to prohibit the discharge of plastic pellets and other pre-production plastic into waterways from facilities and sources that make, use, package, or transport pellets, according to a press release from the senator's office. (WFLA) -- Surveillance footage at a Florida restaurant captured what Tampa Police say is a thief stealing thousands of dollars worth of food.According to the owners of Bayshore Mediterranean Grill, the male thief stole from the restaurant twice last week and returned to steal again Monday night. AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Monday, PragerU announced it is now an educational vendor in Texas, according to a video posted to its website. The company said that means teachers have the options to use its lessons in classrooms.Texas is the second state, after Florida, to approve material from the conservative nonprofit to be used in schools, according to its release. The Hill reported in Florida, the videos aren't required content but "aligns to Florida's revised civics and government standards and can be used as supplemental materials." The approval did not come from Texas Education Agency or the State Board of Education, it came from the Texas Comptroller's Office, according to the TEA.In Texas, the use of PragerU content is similar.
