And I’m okay.” Washington Post takes down editorial cartoon after criticism The former Arizona senator, who has openly discussed her experience in the Air Force after being sexually assaulted by a superior, said she stil...Sisters, 9 and 14, reported missing found: CPD

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The State continues calling witnesses Thursday for day six of Kaitlin Armstrong's murder trial. Police say she shot and killed pro cyclist Anna Moriah "Mo" Wilson on May 11, 2022. State prosecutors have presented a timeline of GPS, DNA, video and electronic evidence they say pins the murder on Armstrong. Detective addresses Kaitlin Armstrong’s online searches in days, weeks after Wilson’s death While the Defense has not called any of their own witnesses yet, during opening statements attorneys highlighted the fact that no eye witnesses saw Armstrong in person at the east Austin apartment where Wilson was killed. On Wednesday, Det. Richard Spitler, the lead homicide investigator on this case, said explicitly that police found Armstrong's DNA on Wilson's bike, which investigators found in a patch of grass near the murder scene. He also addressed Armstrong's email records which show flight itineraries under her name from Austin to New York and one trip under the name ...Austin blocks plan to demolish Rainey Street bungalow as bar empties out

AUSTIN (Austin Business Journal) -- A plan to demolish one of Rainey Street’s last bungalow homes has been met with a wave of resistance by Austin City Hall, leaving a local bar caught in between. Now home to the closing Placeholder Tiki Bar, the owners of the approximately 1,100-square-foot, single-story building at 96 Rainey St. were blocked from demolishing the existing structure to redevelop the site. The Austin Historic Landmark Commission on Nov. 1 declined to vote on the owner's request to replace the old home, originally constructed in 1887, with a two-story, flat-roofed brick building. The commission’s inaction effectively brings the property owner’s plans back to the drawing board. A 75-day consideration period for the request comes to a close in mid-November. The plan has been in place for about four years, presumably to make way for a new entertainment business on-site.Read the full story at Austin Business Journal.Small Bites: The High Hat, a jazzy new Southwest-inspired St. Paul breakfast spot, hits all the right notes

Before The High Hat opened this summer, I stopped by to chat with owner Michael Noyes.Albums by Taylor Swift and Thelonious Monk rest near the turntable at The High Hat, a new Cathedral Hill restaurant. (Jared Kaufman / Pioneer Press)I was first struck by the stunning transformation he made to the former Bon Vie Bistro and A Piece of Cake location in St. Paul’s Cathedral Hill. The physical space was his starting point, he told me, and the food menu followed. He’s worked in St. Paul restaurants for years as a “front-of-house guy” and is also a drummer. The High Hat is his first solo project.I was excited to return for a meal once the restaurant had gotten on its feet — and Noyes nailed it. The cafe was bustling (but not overly noisy!) on a weekend morning earlier this fall, and the vibrant and jazzy atmosphere was truly delightful.Oh, and the food was great, too.My dining partner and I started with drinks. The staff, many of whom are Taylor Swift fans, created the coffee menu, a...Enjoy a 99-cent single scoop cone for Veterans Day at Stewart's
