EUREKA, Mo. - A scene on the Mississippi River Tuesday afternoon is likely a sign of things to come. Two men were rescued by the Marine Task Force after their boat began taking on water."This is the season for those water incidents," said Capt. Matt Coppin with the Metro West Fire Protection District.It's not just boating distress calls that start to increase ahead of Memorial Day weekend. An Indigenous Missing Person alert has been issued by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation for a woman last seen in Lakewood.Chasity Mueller, 36, was last heard from by family members via a text message on May 3, according to the alert.Mueller, who has the words “Stay Away” tattooed on her fingers across both hands and a lip piercing, in known to be experiencing homelessness in the Lakewood area. Officers with the Garden Grove Police Department, assisted in the air by Anaheim Police, took the driver of a suspected stolen vehicle who led officers in pursuit, into custody. The pursuit suspect was traveling westbound on Ball Road, from Beach Boulevard in Stanton, a short time after the chase was initiated. When Sky5 reached the pursuit, the suspect’s vehicle showed substantial damage to the front end, with smoke coming from the hood of the sedan. Near the intersection of Masterson Road and Masterson Avenue, the suspect jumped out of the vehicle and ran into the backyard of a residence where two people at the rear of the house quickly ran inside. Cellphone video captured the moment three Good Samaritans jumped out of their vehicles to help a California Highway Patrol officer who was being attacked by a man on the side of a busy freeway onramp. The incident occurred on May 19 at around 5 p.m., at the Main Street northbound entrance to the 5 Freeway in Santa Ana. CHP officers had been called to the area on reports of a man yelling at drivers and trying to take down a freeway sign. Officials said the officer was planning to let the man go with a warning when he suddenly attacked. “Many of these situations, they end up becoming dangerous at a moment’s notice,” CHP Officer Anselmo Templado told KTLA. Authorities are seeking the public’s help in the search for a missing mother and her three children out of Riverside County.Mayra Perez Posadas, 33, and her three daughters have been missing since early May, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.The woman’s daughters were identified as 13-year-old Kaylie Perez Romero, 15-year-old Amayrany Perez Romero, and a 5-year-old girl. "We can confirm that our office has agreed to review whether the San Francisco District Attorney’s decision not to file charges was an abuse of discretion," Bonta's office said. Brown, a 24-year-old transgender Black man, was shot by a Walgreens security guard after shoplifting from the store, surveillance video shows.
