ST. LOUIS - There have been an alarming number of calls for drug overdoses in the St. Louis area in recent years. There’s a growing feeling that reversing course may go beyond "law and order." Fentanyl continues to be a deadly driving force. Users may be looking for cocaine or methamphetamine, but 90–95% of the time they’re also getting fentanyl mixed into it, according to St. Louis County Public Health Director, Dr. Kanika Cunningham. While the number of drug overdoses is not necessarily climbing, it’s also not letting up. ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - There are several hundred headstones at the Washington Park Cemetery in North County that are easily visible and well-kept, but along the northside of the cemetery it’s a different story. “A lot of those headstones have been buried,” Focal Pointe’s Dan Schaefer said. For years, plants have overtaken the corner of the cemetery along Interstate 70, and what’s left can simply be described as a canopy of shrubs, hiding names and stories. By November, a lot of college football players are feeling the bumps and bruises they’ve accumulated over the previous three months of practices and games. There is a fine line, however, between trying to manage and minimize the wear and tear and getting prepared for the physicality of November football. That’s even more important for the Colorado Buffaloes (4-4, 1-4 Pac-12) as they prepare to face one of the most physical teams in the conference in No. 16 Oregon State (6-2, 3-2) on Saturday at Folsom Field (8 p.m., ESPN).“That is a tricky balance,” CU linebackers coach Andre Hart said this week. “In the pro game, they do it very well where you have thudding and you don’t take anybody to the ground. … But, it’s very tricky, because you get to a point, you play so many games, you play so many snaps, guys are banged up. You want to make sure they get to the game so we can have a successful game.“So, you have to monitor that but then playing a team like (Oregon State), when you have you...CU Buffs notes: Trevor Woods embracing switch to linebacker

The Buffaloes (4-4, 1-4 Pac-12) needed some help at linebacker and Woods jumped out as the man that could fill that role.“It was more of like a dime package thing at first,” Woods said. “But then, it was working really well and they were just like, ‘Hey, get in Trevor,’ because something happened (at practice). It happened just like that two days before the game.”Related Articles Welcome to Denver’s Rivalry Weekend: Bronze Boot, Gold Pan, Commander in Chief trophies all up for grabs.
