Hayward: Shooting kills one, critically injures another; no arrests made HAYWARD — A Hayward shooting left a woman dead and a man in critical condition Thursday afternoon, and no arrests had been made as of Friday morning, authorities said.Police were alerted to shots fired at the 100 block of Cassia Drive around 2 p.m. Thursday. Officers found two victims at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds and both were transported to a hospital.One of the victims, a 30-year-old woman, died from her injuries at the hospital. Her identity was being withheld oending notification of her next of kin, according to Hayward police,. The other person shot, a 28-year-old man, was in critical but stable condition.Police later obtained a warrant related to the case to search at an address on S. Eldorado Street in San Mateo, which San Mateo police said closed nearby streets on Thursday evening. Lupian, who accepted the plea deal on March 22, will be able to serve most of the sentence in county jail, instead of state prison.
